After a flood of ideas from our great event in February, the IIBA UK Regional group in Scotland are excited to announce that our April event will look at a variety of techniques that a BA can use to help deliver successful projects and influence the stakeholders that we work with. We are delighted to have two highly experienced and entertaining speakers – Paul Turner and Matt Andrews who bring a wealth of practical experience with them.

Once again we are working with Be Positive to support this event and thanks to Hudson who are providing the venue and refreshments.

Speaker 1  Paul Turner

Topic   Business Analysis Techniques -  you can never have too many tools

Paul Turner FBCS is a Director of Assist Knowledge Development.  He specialises in the provision of training and consultancy in the areas of Business Analysis, Solution Development and IS Consultancy. He has been involved with the IIBA UK Chapter since its inception and presented at the very first IIBA event in the UK. He is a BCS Chief Examiner and co-author of the recent BCS publication Business Analysis Techniques (72 Essentials Tools for Success). Paul is also a SFIA accredited consultant having contributed the skills components related to Business Analysis, Requirements Definition and Business Modelling contained in the latest release of this competency framework.

Speaker 2   Matt Andrews

Topic   ‘I tried being nice……’ – Influencing Skills for the Business Analyst

Matt Andrews has worked in change for over 8 years; initially in the Utilities industry as an analyst then project / programme manager before moving to RBS in late 2007 to work on the Faster Payments programme to lead the analysis activities. He spent time setting up the global business analysis model in RBS before moving to manage the Global Strategic Channels programme. However his is still a BA at heart!
