Press release : IIBA celebrates successful launch of North West & East Branch.
International Institute of Business Analysis ™ (IIBA ®), the leading professional organisation for Business Analysts, has pleasure in announcing the successful launch of the North West & East UK Branch on Tuesday 18th October.
David Avis, Branches Director for the UK IIBA told us about the significance of the launch. “We’ve listened to our members, and have been pursuing a strategy of growth. We believe that by running regional events we’ll be better able to represent the interests of the wider BA community. I’m delighted that the North West & East UK Branch launch event went so well, and I am excited about the opportunities it will provide both IIBA UK and local BAs. ”
The launch event was sponsored by Shell and hosted at their Manchester site. Over 75 industry professionals attended the event. There were presentations from IIBA UK Board Members about IIBA in the UK and the UK Branch Development Strategy. These were followed by a personal perspective on the benefits of IIBA membership from Gareth Welch of nPower, and an insight into the BA Function at Barclaycard, given by Iain Gillespie, Barclaycard’s Business Analysis Practice Leader.
The event proved a great opportunity for BAs and Change Practitioners to network with other BAs, hear top-class speakers, and find out more about what the IIBA can offer them. Feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many requests for further events, and offers of venues and speakers from BA professionals across the North West and North East.
Events are now planned for January in the North East and for April in the North West.
