Welcome to the UK Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis


 
 
IIBA is a non-profit professional association focused on the development and professional recognition of the Business Analyst. It is run by a team of volunteers who work as practicing Business Analysts as their main occupation, whilst supporting IIBA in their spare time. 
 
IIBA is a community-based professional association run by BAs for BAs.
 
We have active branches in the South West, London, Midlands, North West & East and Scotland.

  • Qualifications: Through our association with IIBA Central, the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) qualification is offered
  • Knowledge sharing:  As an IIBA member or guest, you will have access to copies of slides, videos and reports from previous events, where they are available.  During 2012, we aim to increase our knowledge sharing capacity
  • Membership benefits:  There are a whole host of other benefits to becoming an IIBA member, including discounts on exams, a free electronic copy of the Business Analysis book of Knowledge (BABOK) and access to an electronic library.

 What do we actually do?

  • We organise events that are free to our members
    • 9 events across the UK already scheduled for 2013 and more being planned
    • Recent virtual conference (~300 attendees)
    • Annual European BA conference in partnership with BCS and IRM
  • We represent UK Business Analysis interests and perspectives with the central IIBA organisation
  • We represent our members interests with other industry groups
  • We answer questions and provide advice to our members on a range of topics including career progression and certification
  • We lobby government
    • IIBA UK recently wrote to Mrs M Hodge MP, chair of the Public Accounts Committee, raising concerns over how Government manages large projects.
  • We conduct an annual BA survey
  • We administer a not-for-profit limited company
 

Newsflash: Business Analysis Conference Europe 2013: Programme announced

We are pleased to announce that the Business Analysis Conference Europe will be held from 24 September - 26 September.  The programme has now been announced, and we have a fantastic range of speakers. IIBA UK Chapter members are entitled to a 15% discount. I hope you'll be able to join us!

Call For Speakers - BA Conference Europe 2013 

The Business Analysis Conference Europe 2013 will be held on 23-25 September 2013 at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London, UK . The conference is organised by IRM UK and the organising committee which includes representatives from the UK Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis® (IIBA®) and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

Proposals are now being accepted from potential speakers.. The committee is looking for speakers who can provide information, insights and experiences on topics related to business analysis. Do you have a subject you wish to discuss with an informed audience? Is there a member of your team who has some interesting experiences to share? Could you or anyone in your team offer a presentation that would contribute to the conference?

UK Business Analysis Survey

The survey, now in its second year, provides a vital 'state of the nation' picture of the Business Analysis profession in the UK today. This picture will help to inform the services we and others provide to Business Analysis professionals and provide a critical bench mark in terms of growth of the profession year on year.
 
The top level results are published free of charge to all.
