(Virtual session) AI Insights: Prompt Engineering

A collaborative, BA-led exploration of working better with AI

As AI tools become part of everyday Business Analysis work, many of us are experimenting with Large Language Models (LLMs) — with mixed results. This virtual session creates a friendly, safe space for business analysts to explore how better prompting leads to better outcomes, regardless of which LLM you use.

This session is designed for:

  • BAs at the start of their AI journey who want to improve the results they are getting

  • BAs further along who want to share what they’ve learned and learn from others
All experience levels are welcome, valued, and encouraged - participation is always optional.

No prior knowledge, preparation, or specific tools are required.

What to expect:

This is not a one-way 'how-to” webinar. Instead, it’s a structured, interactive collaboration space, led by three experienced business analysts:

  • Bronia Anderson-Kelly
  • Gill Dunn
  • Kurian Panjikaran

Together, we’ll work through:

  • The fundamentals of prompting and how LLMs work
  • Practical, BA-focused prompt examples and live demos
  • Whiteboard activities
  • Polls and open discussion to share experiences and perspectives
  • A look at emerging AI features
You’re welcome to contribute as much or as little as you like — listening and observing is just as valid as taking part.

What you’ll take away:

By the end of the session, you’ll have:
  • A clearer understanding of how to improve prompting outcomes for BA work
  • New ideas you may not have considered before
  • Insight from peers working with AI in different contexts
  • Greater confidence experimenting with AI tools in a thoughtful, practical way
This event is brought to you by IIBA UK and is the first in a new series of AI-focused webinars, designed to support peer learning and shared exploration across the BA community.
