This series is designed to provide deep insights into the world of business architecture, guided by the book's authors and our panel members.

Session 3: Business architecture capability and competence views

In session 1, Debra Paul and Jonathan Hunsley introduce the book, explore the motivation behind its creation, and provide an overview of business architecture.
 
In session 2, Jonathan Hunsley and Victoria Banner discuss the Service Framework for Business Architecture and how business architecture can be leveraged as a service to drive organisational success.

About the speakers

Debra Paul

 
 
Debra Paul is the CEO of Assist Knowledge Development Ltd, a training and consultancy company specialising in business analysis, service design and business architecture. Debra has co-authored several publications including Business Analysis, Agile and Business Analysis and Delivering Business Analysis, and created the BA Service Framework.

Debra is a keen advocate of business architecture, service science and design thinking, and is a regular speaker at business seminars and IS industry events. She is a visiting fellow at Henley Business School. Debra has delivered keynote presentations at numerous conferences, is a founder member of the BA Manager Forum and was the chief architect of the Advanced International Diploma in Business Analysis.
 
Vicky Rothwell
 
Vicky Rothwell is a consulting enterprise architect who has significant experience in the development and implementation of business strategies and subsequent service design and delivery. She has over 25 years’ experience in business change and has worked across the public, private and financial sectors.
 
Vicky has previously undertaken the role of oral examiner for BCS qualifications and was among the first to achieve the Expert BA award. She is a strong advocate for business architecture and is keen to promote the profession and the importance of it as an enabler to strategic goal achievement.
 
Vicky has worked to develop business architecture functions in many organisations and has shared her experience by speaking at seminars such as the BA Conference Europe and other industry events. Vicky has appeared on the BA Brew podcast to discuss how the role has developed and has also contributed to other podcast productions to promote women within enterprise architecture.
